Known for its fish and clam chowder, Boston is the thriving capital city of Massachusetts that is filled with history and excitement. The city had the first public park in America (known as the Boston Common), the first public library was founded here, the first American lighthouse was built in Boston, and of course this is where the famous Boston Tea Party happened.
The photos above and below are taken at Downtown Crossing, a shopping district just east of the Boston Common.
The Boston Common is a public park of nearly 50 acres. In the winter they put out an ice skating rink on Frog Pond and in the summer it's popular to just sit on the green grass and relax.
One of the most popular things to do is to head to Newbury Street for shopping. With stores like Chanel, Urban Outfitters, H&M, and so many more, its a very busy street filled with beautiful old style architecture.
Another popular thing to do is take the Freedom Trail. It's a 2.6 mile long path that takes you through downtown Boston and passes by 16 locations that are significant to the United States. I recommend this for anyone visiting for the first time.
After finishing a day in the city, the next morning I decided to head over to the ocean since it's only a 10 minute car drive away and catch the sunset.
That's all from Boston for now! I'll be there soon and I'll come back with some good food places to go to. Perhaps Wahlburgers?!
